FIENDISH

Fiendish Feet Advertisement (1988)

I had a few of these Yoghurt pots. They doubled up as villain characters for my Real Ghostbusters toys to battle against. They blended in well and provided a great set of scary skittles for Ecto-1 to smash into.

BIN

The Turtle Bin. (1990-2012) has now been given a new lease of life whilst the TMNT that occupied it are now retired keepsakes. Great times.

Good old-fashioned festive fun.

TAT

Been blogging regularly on Figured Out with reports on various items of Christmas tat.

The first 3 are:

Playmobil Santa & Pals
Jolly St Nick is here in Playmobil form, but he's appeared to have shed a few pounds! An imposter maybe? A rubbery-nosed Snowman and other pals have also joined in the venture.

Charlie Brown and Snoopy Blocks
Its the 60th anniversary of Peanuts with Charlie Brown and buds on display in Christmas clobber.

Hero Turtles Christmas Tree Ornaments
At one stage the Ninja Turtles received some censoring before hitting the UK shores. This article covers an amazing find of some Turtles merchandise from that era. Marvel the awesome foursome as they are dumbed down to look as cute and cuddly as possible for the holiday season.

SIZE

So here we have it. Courtesy of Christianbooks.com is the acquisition of the century!

Bible Character Action figs. David & Goliath, oddly out of scale to one another. Pretty cool though. Looks like a wrestling toyline in disguise.

I've taken more photos since this one with a few comparisons for an upcoming Figured Out entry.

WASPINATOR

I bought the Transformers: Animated version of Waspinator a while back when they were reported to be gold-dust on the UK toy shelves.

Since the rarity has dropped and Waspinators are reported to be cropping up again, I decided to free the nasty green insect from his packaging prison.

STUNTICON

Cross-posted from Figured Out.

As if the revelation about the streaking Lego Santa was'nt enough of an eye-opener, I was brought to the attention yesterday of a very questionably named Transformers product.

That's not a 'photoshop', it's the packaging of an upcoming Stunticons homage figure.

Of course slang words in the US/UK differ from one another. I beleive the said name on the box is also offensive Stateside too. You have to question how much research the department at Hasbro put into thier Transformers names. I beleive they still own the copyrights to 'Menasor', 'Dead End' and 'Drag Strip'.

This is probably the most controversial name on a Transformer since the 80's when a certain fire-breathing triceratops hit the UK toy shelves. There have been other questionable Transformers names since, but never on this level. Let's hope Hasbro sorts it out.

OCTANE

I’ve not written about any of the junk I waste my money on in a long time (maybe because I don’t buy stuff often), so here goes a snippet about my latest Transformers acquisition – Universe Tankor!

Universe or Classics/Henkei as it is otherwise known is a Transformers sub-line mainly aimed at us ‘older’ kids who owned the original figures of Optimus Prime etc back in the 80’s. This sub-line introduces revamped and updated new versions of the old figures from yesterday so us grown ups can buy the characters again and the kids of today can enjoy them too.

Now Tankor is meant to be an update of the Decepticon Triple Changer Octane. For whatever reason - the toy is named Tankor instead, most likely because of a current copyright issue. What matters is that this figure resembles in some way the kickass toy Octane from 20+ years ago.

Octane/Tankor was best remembered as a Transformer who had both a fuel tanker and plane transformations. This new incarnation of the toy still has those modes and pays good homage to the G1 original with a couple of different features too. The detail is amazing, the colours are well placed, and the all new double-rake weapon is a decent touch.

I’ll save a long-winded toy review for later, but I must say I am pretty blown away by one of Hasbro’s latest offerings. Shame about the name complications, but in conclusion the best 12 quid I have ever squandered.

Bring on Cyclonus and co!

PLASTIC

Now that the weather is warmer here in England we are having Car Boot Sales starting up again.

I went down the local Rugby ground last Sunday where our local junk selling takes place

I had some decent finds, including Air Attack Shredder (TMNT), Some Transforming Spiderman thing (not Megamorphs), A die cast General Lee (Dukes of Hazzard), and a few others that escape me.

I laugh at how some people sell stuff off without knowing the true worth of the items :). In one previous year for example I bought G1 Cosmos, Beachcomber and Powerglide for 10p each in good nick. Not bad eh.

Allegedly Fort Max was seen for £5 some years ago at the very boot sale.

Car Boot Sales are great :)

P.S The Car Boot tale continues at Figured Out :)
