VERSION

I have been reading up on the negative feedback in regards to recent US airing of the Life on Mars remake. I reckon the series deserves another chance considering the episode was only a pilot or more of a demo really.

Gene Hunt is being recast, Ray Carling’s character will now be in the show (hopefully Chris Skelton too) and a few other changes are being made. I think that ABC will learn from the mistakes made the first time around, but I think the original UK BBC show is the one to watch first no matter how good or bad the remake may turn out to be.

Mind you. There may be flack towards American remakes at the moment, but it is not like the UK hasn’t made a dogs dinner with versions of American shows either – Whos the Boss, That 70’s Show and Married With Children are the first 3 that come to mind.

TRIM

I am shrinking…

The weight continues to drop off, well some of it anyway, but physically I am trimming down much smaller than I have ever been before.

The time has come, although it came long ago to obtain a new wardrobe. Now I don’t mean a literal new wardrobe for keeping things in, but a whole ensemble of new clothes to suit my new more toned up figure.

Personally I don’t feel a lot smaller but I am aware of the physical changes in that I’ve had to make a new hole in my trouser belt every now and then. My jeans are now fitting me like clown pants rather than skater pants and will be subject to a ‘malfunction’ if I am not careful.

Everyone keeps telling me how different I look now, although I still feel pretty hefty.

Not just hefty though but ‘clean’ because of discarding all the crappy food I no longer implore myself with.

I think if a lot more people were aware of how nasty ‘Supermarket’ food is getting and the secrets behind some products they would cut out the crap too. Who wants to eat chicken fillets injected with Styrofoam anyway? Or Sausages that are made of 50 percent water and 50 percent rubbish? Not me.

It has been tough going, but I don’t see myself going back to a lot of the junk food I once found comfort with. My body has had a tough time adjusting to the intake changes but I am getting there.

Anyone else having trouble with changing their daily diet I support you. Don’t ever give up! Never settle for stuff that doesn’t even reach up to second best, because if you love yourself you know first best is always the way forward even if the journey has the odd road bump now and again.

The fight for me is far from over, but I’m going to enjoy the journey more than the destination, no matter many episodes and seasons it takes *smile*.

HOAX

News surfaced the web yesterday in regards to a new TMNT movie set for 2010 via the Playmatestoys.com website. http://www.playmatestoys.com/turtleshome/#/tmntmovie/

This news turned out to be rubbish.

Thanks to my Pennsylvanian pal Vaughn Michael for uncovering the truth, http://vaughnmichael.blogspot.com/2008/07/playmates-in-denial-fans-ready-flames.html (the blog entry also quotes what TMNT top bods Dan Berger and Steve Murphy had to say on the matter). Cheers mate, you are like the Huggy Bear of TMNT news :P.

It looks like someone at Playmates could be acquainted with the dole queue sometime soon.

I was really hoping that this supposed next film would have been a better offering than 2007’s recent effort. Ah well.

Here’s hoping Hasbro buy out the TMNT license.

Another finger in another pie wouldn’t hurt.

AMERICANISED

I recentley acquired the pilot episode for the American remake of Life on Mars.

TRAILER

I have high and low hopes for this. So far it looks like CSI fusioned with Starsky and Hutch.

This could be good or it could be rubbish. The curiosity of an Americanised Gene Hunt probably quoting "You're surrounded by Armed Bastards!" and other funnies is enough to make me want to give this yank remake a chance.

Personally I think the US could do a better job remaking the sequel series Ashes to Ashes.

TRIPLE

- THUNDERA
- SITUATION
- ASLAN

THUNDERA

Yesterday I went out with my associate in his new car (a car which looks like Chase of the Throttlebots/G1 Transformers) to Bristol city centre (or Broadmead as us true Bristolians call it) on a mission to acquire the Second Season of Thundercats on DVD.

The HMV staff were a little crafty as they had a copy of the S2 pt 1 disc set on display for £22.99 and cunningly hid the reduced £15 copies on a lower shelf section. We got the £15 copy in the end.

Thundercats season 2 is a big deal here in the UK. For season 2 was never aired over here, or more accurately the BBC could not be arsed to air it. You could say that Season 2 is like a gap in the childhood of anyone who grew up in 80’s Britain. The nearest Blighty ever got to seeing Season 2 was the release of the Thundercats Ho Movie on VHS.

So Season 2 will mark new Thundercats, Ma-Mutt, new Thundera (Third Earth was cool though!!) and a new villain faction called the Lunatacs (Who I hear are nastier than the Berserkers ever were). I’m going to need some time to sit aside and be immersed in it all. 65 unseen episodes of Thundercat goodness can’t go wrong well 30-something to start with until the acquisition of part 2 is made.

I need not go on about how great Thundercats is, an 80’s cartoon that hasn’t aged very badly, a toon that was a milestone for toons today and a toon that practically started Toonami.

So yeah Season 2 goodness. Going to love every minute of it I hope.

SITUATION

I am in talks with Celtic Wrestling management over my quitting the promotion last Friday. Things could be resolved…

I may have acted rash, but with good reason.

I cannot go into details yet, but I am still on very good terms with the guys and gals at C/W and there is still a good relationship going.

I will keep you guys updated on this one.

ASLAN

I went to see Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian today: A great film with a load of sword swing, claw slashing action. Very good sequel. I can’t wait for Voyage of the Dawn Treader with the return of Reapacheap and the introduction of Eustace! :D. The character who I felt sorry for the most in Caspian was the poor Minotaur that held up the gate as it looked like he was hit in a certain place with an arrow . I’d love to say more but I know people from church will be reading this and are making a trip to see this tomorrow, so sorry kids, no spoilers from me  And NO THROWING POPCORN (when the ushers are looking).

Zip and Star’s Birthday tomorrow with mine the day after.

Check you all later

DAVROS

Wasn’t Saturday’s Doctor Who finale just great!?

Davros and his plans to takeover the universe certainly went Belly Up to say the least.

I really enjoyed the finale and the teaser at the end for the upcoming Christmas special featuring The Cybermen looks like it could be a real corker.

I am glad that Rose had received a happier send off than she did last time. I am sure that she’ll find happiness with her carbon copy mortal version of The Doctor in the alternate dimension.

I really enjoyed the character appearances from everyone although I don’t think there was enough of the sized down Torchwood team, especially the rather dreamy Gwen who is the epitome of cute Welsh women *swoons*.

All in all Doctor Who had a good season ender. I can’t wait to see the Chrimbo special this December.

More Gwen please ^_^

WEEKEND

First off, if any of my American Transformers fan friends can help me with the acquisition of this beauty I would be really grateful. I am sure this is one Megatron item that will have no trouble getting past customs. LINK
Christmas in July!!!

As far as the weekend goes, I had a mixed up one at that. This weekend was all about less highs than lows but I am getting over some stuff and having to move on.

Quitting Celtic Wrestling was heartbreaking.

It winds me up that it seems in all circles anywhere only the inner elite clique are allowed an opinion (no matter how illogical it is) whereas the rest of that circle are name-called and shunned away. Anyone who hung out on the C/W forum today will know what I mean - when a good mate (Bassey) started a little farewell thread for me which sadly had to be deleted.

I need to cheer up more… The Dr Who finale was awesome, Guitar Hero 3 was fun and I hope to start watching the complete Life on Mars (the original UK version) on DVD later on.

My 31st birthday is this upcoming Thursday so I need to be in high spirits for then.

SPARK

"When a Spark goes online, there is great joy.
When one is extinguished, the universe weeps. ”

- Rhinox

I was pondering today about life and how we need to value our own existence more.

Yeah, I know I am one to talk.

The fact that our single sperm cell kicked the asses (tails) of millions of others should really count for the fact that each and every one of us has value in some way. If not for our single cell being so greater than the others, we would not come to be.

Life is crap for some people.
Welcome to planet Earth, a planet that is morally declining every day, a planet that has a large population of arseholes. The worst person that could turn against us is us ourselves.

We have got to start loving ourselves and valuing our existence whilst we are still breathing and living on this rock.

Life energy…

Proverbially, I have a ‘Spark’, a spark that is delicate but burns brightly with life energy. That ‘Spark’ can hurt from time to time as it can be crushed by others but loved by others too. The ‘Spark’ I have lives on good vibes and sometimes lacks the self love it needs to continue its brightness.

I don’t want my ‘spark’ to extinguish…

I want it to survive.

I will fight to keep it alive…

AGE

A week from now I will turn 31.

Should I feel ‘old’?

Heck no.

I will make the most of being 30 for one more week however.

PLASTIC

Now that the weather is warmer here in England we are having Car Boot Sales starting up again.

I went down the local Rugby ground last Sunday where our local junk selling takes place

I had some decent finds, including Air Attack Shredder (TMNT), Some Transforming Spiderman thing (not Megamorphs), A die cast General Lee (Dukes of Hazzard), and a few others that escape me.

I laugh at how some people sell stuff off without knowing the true worth of the items :). In one previous year for example I bought G1 Cosmos, Beachcomber and Powerglide for 10p each in good nick. Not bad eh.

Allegedly Fort Max was seen for £5 some years ago at the very boot sale.

Car Boot Sales are great :)

PUNK

Last night’s edition of WWE RAW restored some of my faith in WWE programming when out of the blue the most tidy, slot-filling story twist happened.

And of course I am referring to a Pepsi Twist here LOL.

CM Punk who won #1 contendership briefcase at Wrestlemania 24 this year cashed in his title shot and put the now previous champion Edge in his place and snagged the championship belt after a vicious GTS (Go To Sleep) to the head.

Edge had previously caused The Undertaker to be banished from the WWE (although I reckon he’ll be back at Summerslam) and along with La Familia gave the Smackdown locker-room an unfair power struggle, with Edge as the champ along with the General Manager Vickie Guerrero in his back pocket (and probably his front pocket too :P).

So yeah, Edge for a long time now had been asking for a comeuppance, so lo & behold CM Punk was the man to bring it.

I’ve liked CM Punk for a long time ever since his pre-WWE days on the indy scene. I even had the pleasure of meeting Punk back in early 2005 when I was with *certain promotion* and commentated for the match he was in.

Punk is a drink free, drug free, straight-edge superstar whose only addiction is competition and sometimes a splash of Pepsi . Punker is also a GI Joe fan too, but I won’t hold that against him.

But yeah… CM Punk as Champ on RAW.

Bloody good!

I hope things continue to get better.
