It's official. The mantle has been passed... I am the new Santa Claus of Elim Church. Beyond that, I'll be doing Father Christmas gigs on request.

As of a couple of months ago, I'm back with Celtic Wrestling in a remote and multimedia based role.

Posted on the left is the event flyer I recently produced for their upcoming Big Bang 6 Fundraiser show in aid of  Isabella's Wish To Walk

I will be producing more advertising in the future, with the prospect of recording DVD release match commentary maybe on the horizon (still ironing that one out). It's great to see my favorite welsh Wrestling group active again.

Anyone remember the promotion from Bassetts Licorice Allsorts when Bertie Bassett went missing? The objective was to find the Bertie shaped sweet and win prizes (and possibly cash!). I found Bertie... but misplaced him until now. Bassetts have been contacted...

FALLOUT

 Yesterday was a little bit of a revelation, as I had to do the mature thing and cut ties with a 'celebrity' person from my childhood after they exposed their malice. Things were getting really nasty especially on their end, buttons were pushed and sinking to their level had to be avoided.

I don't get stuck into 'fandom' too much like I used to. I am happy that so many more fan groups of the things I like are continuing to flourish, mind you.

The downside however, is 'fandom' also seems to attract a lot of broken people on both the consumer and producer sides of the fence. I don't have the time or energy any longer to have my soul leached from or be too involved with troubles. I am growing up and need to accommodate other priorities in life. On top of that, I am a family man too!

We all experience problems - and finding the right avenue to deal with them isn't always an easy or comfortable task. Fandom and the indulgence from it can be therapeutic to a degree, but it never fills a gap. If fandom was 100% my Rock and Salvation I would have taken the recent fallout really, really badly!

I will always be a large adoring fan of many properties and brands. My expression of them has slim-lined, but the adoration hasn't waned. I have made so many friends, gotten married and had great times through the circuits of fandom and I am grateful for it. Not every road is full of speed bumps!

In closing: My quarrel yesterday wasn't with a troubled consumer, but a producer who I once respected. Nobody is perfect and I hope this person for their sake can find peace before it is too late.

Inspector Spacetime: Pursuit of the Blorgons (2012)

I have been wanting to do something ‘Community’ related for a while. The Inspector Spacetime idea came up randomly whilst looking for British imagery for the Diamond Jubilee. American spectators at this time will understand what the grid background is all about…

I made my own Inspector Spacetime logo… The Blorgons were lifted from the show and the rest was all done from scratch.

TRAP

I recently stumbled upon this marvelous photo documentation of the classic Box Monster booby trap.

The Monster is simply constructed from using a coat hanger, a shirt, a box for the head to draw a face on, mounted hooks and plenty of string. The photos show how the trap works and gives an idea what the poor victim is in store for,

The original trap I made in the late 80’s was set up inside a Wardrobe, using the same mechanism and the clothes rail inside instead of hooks.

Not for the feint of heart, but do try and copy this and give it a go if you know of somebody to prank. Hahaha.

ZUMBA

I started doing Zumba recently.

Can't say I'm instantly good at it, but its fun regardless. There's no pressure to be 'good' at all in fact. Zumba is very diverse for all people to engage with at their own pace.

I feel like I've lost a stone already.

It has been since probably 2004. kenflatt.com has finally been updated!

I made the original site on Netscape Navigator and have since started using stuff like Dreamweaver and getting to know Notepad++.

As it stands right now, it is just an interface pointing to all my Social Networking avenues, but an update all the same. The link to this blog is hidden just for fun. I knows you can find it. :)

Custom TV Guide 1991

Old Tradition: As soon as the Christmas Fortnight edition of the TV/Radio Times entered the Flatt household, I borrowed it to make my own TV guide. Of course I only copied out the listings that interested me the most. I will share the contents later down the line for amusement. 

FIENDISH

Fiendish Feet Advertisement (1988)

I had a few of these Yoghurt pots. They doubled up as villain characters for my Real Ghostbusters toys to battle against. They blended in well and provided a great set of scary skittles for Ecto-1 to smash into.

BIN

The Turtle Bin. (1990-2012) has now been given a new lease of life whilst the TMNT that occupied it are now retired keepsakes. Great times.
